Another great month of classes and plenty of preparation for those ready to grade in June. Grading are booked in for Saturday 18th June and I will issue times out over the next week or two. Hi everyone, so here we are after another month of excellent classes, we kicked off the month with a bang when my friend and teacher Mick Tully taught his seminar.
A few new developments have also come round since the last newsletter which is great for the club, we’ve had more new people start so thank you to everyone that’s recommending the classes to friends and family, I’m chuffed that everyone is still enjoying the classes and I am really excited for what is to come for the next year. » Read more

Wow, what a year it’s been for Andrew Rheeston Karate, the classes have grown and have never been busier, this year has seen us host Iain Abernethy for a seminar where he taught a drill for the whole if Jitte Kata. » Read more
On Sunday 26th June, Phil Norman will be coming to teach a 2 hour seminar based around his Survive self protection system as well as a 2 hour seminar on his Ghost System.
In 1989 Phil became the first UK based student to pass Ajarn Surachai Sirisute’s Thai test and he also received his Initiateur (Instructor) in Boxe Francais Savate under Professeur Salem Assli. In 1991 Phil became an apprentice instructor under Guru Dan Inosanto in the Filipino Martial Arts Kali/ Silat and in Jun Fan Martial Arts/ Jeet Kune Do.
In 1998 Phil won the middleweight Sport Ju Jitsu World Title, beating fighters from Japan, Canada and the USA. In 2000 Phil took and passed the Shooto exam under Sensei Yorinaga Nakamura and became the first UK student to get a 100% pass rate. In the same year, he became one of only 5 Students in the UK to be awarded the honour of his Full Instructorship under Guru Dan Inosanto.

On Saturday the 6th February my friend and teacher Mick Tully has accepted to teach a seminar in Birmingham. I have trained with Mick now for 4 years and can say when he brings his unique take on the martial arts (with a bit of comedy too) it will be a seminar enjoyed by everyone.
